Techniques to positively motivate low-income housing clients must evolve with the current times. The “carrot and stick” method is no longer successful as families must feel empowered, heard and respected before they will take guidance and advice. This virtual workshop will provide an overview of best practices around establishing trust, building confidence, and influencing action with others. Focus will be on utilization of evidenced based techniques such as Motivational Interviewing and the Stages of Change.
